Kevin Dabrowski has all the attributes at Hibs - he just needs to dislodge Ofir Marciano

Former Hibs goalkeeping coach Alan Combe believes Kevin Dabrowski has "all the attributes" to succeed but warned the Pole he has his work cut out in unseating Ofir Marciano.

Combe worked with both shot-stoppers during his time at Easter Road and feels the 22-year-old's loan move to Dumbarton could be the making of him.

Speaking exclusively to the Evening News, Combe said: "When Kevin came in there was a four-year plan for him.

"He has all the attributes and he knows what he needs to work on. He needs games, and going on loan last season to Cowdenbeath gave him a real buzz.

"Dumbarton is a step up from where he was last time. I think around February it'll be possible to gauge Kevin's readiness for the Hibs first team, depending on how he does."

However, with Israeli internationalist Marciano currently occupying the No.1 spot in Jack Ross' team, Dabrowski will have to show he can step up again.

Combe continued: "He's got more than 20 appearances on the bench for Hibs but at this moment in time Hibs have a guy who's playing well; an international goalkeeper, and it'll be hard to take the gloves off him.

"It's up to Kevin to work on certain aspects of his game, such as using the ball at his feet, but he has the attributes to go the distance.

"He's got plenty of games to show Dumbarton what he can do, but also show Hibs what he's capable of and if he can make that step up to first-team level."
