Expect Hibs to be resilient says Billy Brown

HIBS assistant Billy Brown has warned Hearts they will encounter a much-improved Easter Road side on Sunday after admitting his former club had found derby victories all too easy to come by in recent times.

Brown will be back at Tynecastle this weekend for the first time since he and long-time sidekick Jim Jefferies had their second spell at Hearts ended by owner Vladimir Romanov last August.

And having now been involved in derbies from both sides of the Capital divide after being on the losing side in Hearts’ 3-1 success at Easter Road at New Year, Brown admits Hibs have been soft touches in recent matches between the two Edinburgh sides.

However, he is adamant that is no longer the case: “Jim and I always felt during our first time with Hearts that a derby, either at Tynecastle or Easter Road, was a real hard affair, but when we went back we thought it wasn’t as hard as it should have been.

“But I think this time it will be different. This is a different Hibs team, they are more resilient, harder all round, harder to beat with a great spirit about them. This will be different and I think Hearts will realise that.”
