Francomb grateful for time at Hibs

GEORGE FRANCOMB believes that his loan spell at Hibs is beginning to pay dividends, after earning a new deal with Norwich.

Francomb returned to Carrow Road this week following a six-month spell at Easter Road during which the midfielder made 17 appearances for Hibs.

The 20-year-old, who made just a cameo appearance in latter stages of the Scottish Cup final defeat to Hearts last weekend, has signed a new one-year deal with a further one-year option.

Francomb, who was used mainly from the bench after being recruited by Fenlon in January, believes that the first-team experience he gained at Hibs played a vital role in earning him a new deal.

He said: “I’m over the moon. “I’ve had half a season up at Hibs and now I’m back I can’t wait to get on with pre-season,” he said. “It was brilliant for me to play up at Hibs – it was a completely different environment, but the season before I did it with Barnet, so it wasn’t too different to that, just on a bigger scale.”

Meanwhile Dundee United’s Danny Swanson – who had been linked with a move to Hibs – is attracting attention from Peterborough.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson said: “I know about him. He’s a good player. He’s definitely on our radar.”
