Hibs to take talent hunt worldwide

Hibs are to begin a drive to strengthen ties with clubs and football organisations throughout the world in a bid to bring emerging talent to Easter Road, it was revealed today.

Executive director Scott Lindsay has already begun that process, a change in responsibilities in the boardroom which see him take charge of sporting success while Fife Hyland, as managing director, oversees the day-to-day running of the club.

With a state-of-the-art training centre in place and the new East Stand completing the redevelopment of Easter Road, Lindsay insists it is now time to “solidify” the benefits Hibs possess.

While Hibs have come to realise that little is known about Scottish football outwith the Old Firm throughout Europe and beyond, they believe the eyes of others have been opened when they’ve learned just what the Easter Road outfit have to offer.

He said: “We have the new organisation structure with Fife and myself in different roles, part of the plan allowing me to focus purely on sporting success.

“Youth development will retain itself as a core part of what we are trying to achieve in the future but I think the biggest area we can now focus our attention on, and this has started since the transfer window closed, is looking beyond Scotland, looking beyond the club and trying to establish better relationships with other organisations in other part of the world so we have better support in terms of contacts around Europe and around the world.

“These relationships will be a core part of what I will spend the next six or seven months working on.”
