Watch Hibs for just £1

Hibs today launched “half-season” tickets allowing kids to watch Pat Fenlon’s table-topping side for as little as £1, while briefs for next month’s William Hill Scottish Cup clash against Capital rivals Hearts also went on sale.

The Easter Road club hope today’s offer will prove popular with fans, with increasing gates helping to fund Fenlon’s bid to keep an impressive start to the campaign going when the January transfer window opens.

Gates have been slowly increasing as Hibs have taken everyone by surprise and now lead champions Celtic by two points at the top of the table. Skipper James McPake today appealed for “lapsed” supporters to back the latest initiative.

The big defender said: “I don’t think it’s been emphasised enough how much the support actually helps us in games. They have pulled us through when things haven’t been going our way. Hopefullly we have made progress towards putting that right and if the lapsed supporters come back they’ll see that for themselves.”

Hibs have frozen the prices for a half-season ticket – valid from the Boxing Day visit of Ross County – while prices start at only £1 per game for Hibs Kids. Full details can be obtained from the club website.

Meanwhile, current season ticket holders can start buying their briefs for the fourth round Cup tie against Hearts on Sunday, December 2, from today. They can also book as many tickets as required for family and friends. Club members can buy their tickets from Monday with a general sale beginning the following day. Tickets are priced at £25 (adults) and £14 (concessions).

Hibs Under-20 side enjoyed a 3-0 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last night, their goals coming from Euan Smith, Danny Handling and Pa Kujabi.
