Hibs defender David Gray today agreed an extension to his contract – keeping him at Easter Road until the summer of 2017.
Gray, 27, was head coach Alan Stubbs’ first signing for the club last summer and went on to make 34 appearances, scoring three goals.
He said: “As much as it was disappointing not to achieve our goal of promotion, I’m still very excited about the future and I was desperate to be a part of it.
“Next season we need to make sure that we hit the ground running.”
Gray was unveiled as the new club captain as Hibs confirmed that Liam Craig was leaving the club.
Craig, who joined the club from St Johnstone in 2013, said: “Naturally, I’m disappointed to leave Hibernian, but I would like to wish everybody associated with the club all the best for the future.”
