However, despite a series of chances in both halves and a man advantage for the last 15 minutes of the game, the visitors left with just a point to show for their efforts.

Jack Ross' side could have been two goals up in the opening quarter of an hour after Kyle Magennis hit the post and Martin Boyle squandered two good chances.

Kevin Nisbet also had an effort cleared off the line as County struggled to deal with Hibs’ sustained pressure.

However, the hosts had chances of their own and while they didn’t ever really test Ofir Marciano, they frustrated Hibs and will be the happier of the two teams with the result.

Ross County host Hibs in this Scottish Premiership clash, kick-off at 3pm. We’ll have team news, live updates, and more as it happens

Marciano; P McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon, Stevenson; Boyle, Gogic, Newell, Magennis; Doidge, Nisbet.

Subs: Barnes, Gray, McGregor, Mackie, S McGinn, Hallberg, Mallan, Shanley, Gullan.

A strong team picked by Jack Ross, with plenty of depth on the bench as well. Kyle Magennis gets his first league start while there are returns for Marciano, Paul McGinn, Hanlon, Porteous, Stevenson, Gogic, and Newell.

Options to change it up as well - with the personnel selected Ross could line his team up in a 4-4-2, 4-3-3, or 3-5-2. The Easter Road boss likes being able to change his tactics without necessarily changing players, and he certainly has scope to do that today.

Under way at the Global Energy Stadium

Hibs in green shirts, white shorts, and green socks, and the hosts in their traditional blue shirts, blue shorts, and blue and red socks.

Scotland internationalist Paul Hanlon launches the ball forward looking for Christian Doidge but Doohan gathers before the Welsh striker can reach it.

Ooooh! Boyle haring toards goal but Charles-Cook with a fantastic tackle to deny the winger.

Kyle Magennis smacks the post with a fantastic effort and as they say, any closer and it would have been a goal. A lively start from Hibs!

Gardyne with a teasing cross that has Marciano on high alert but it drifts away and Stevenson whacks it clear

Martin Boyle sent clear by Newell, he scampers towards goal but contrives to send his effort just wide of Doohan’s right-hand post. The Australian internationalist with two good chances so far but still goalless in Dingwall.

Nisbet… no! Off the line! A cute effort from the striker but it’s cleared off the line by a County defender.
