Easter Road will play host to international football this summer after it was confirmed today that Scotland will face Qatar at Hibs’ ground on Friday, June 5.
The match against the Qataris, who will host the World Cup in 2022, will serve as a warm-up match ahead of Scotland’s key Euro 2016 qualifier against Republic of Ireland on Saturday, June 13 in Dublin.
Easter Road, which has a capacity of more than 20,000, last hosted international football when Scotland played Australia in August 2012.
“The match against Qatar will give us an opportunity for competitive match time before playing the Republic of Ireland and we look forward to playing in front of the fans at Easter Road in June,” said Scotland head coach Gordon Strachan.
The match will kick off at 7.45pm with ticket information to be announced in due course.
