Hibs fans weren't short of comment after the Easter Road side were knocked out of the Scottish Cup at the semi-final stage by bitter rivals Hearts.

Liam Boyce’s penalty in the second half of extra time, just minutes after Kevin Nisbet had missed from the spot, handed Robbie Neilson’s side a 2-1 victory and a place in the final against Aberdeen or Celtic.

Supporters were not happy with the defeat or the performance.

Freddie White suggested Hibs needed a “leader who can actually take the game by the scruff of the neck”.

Lyle Kennedy tweeted: “Weren't good enough. Move on, learn and improve.”

Mike McNulty added: “Absolutely gutted… watching that, we should have totally bossed that game and scored at least two before half time. Need injection of passion in midfield and better quality up front… blatantly obvious.”

John Friary mused: “Well no real excuses! We had lots of opportunity to win the match! Both late penalties were soft but we missed and they scored!”
