Though it could be moved into a 3-5-2 with Jamie Murphy playing in an advanced central role, it does appear to be a return to the 4-4-2 with two natural wide players in Jamie Murphy and Martin Boyle.

Overall, the Hibs supporters are pleased to see their manager adopting such an adventurous approach away from home, though there were still a few concerns with the set-up.

@paulp79: "Good attacking line up."

neil7908: "Like the look of the front 4 but still worry about that central midfield. We need Newell on top form today."

660: "Good to see gogic and Nisbet back. Think they will make a big difference. Glad Allan is out in all honesty."

@archigoles: "Good attacking intent. Hope midfield not dominated by St Mirren."

@hibeemg: "I see that as our strongest team at the moment."

Moulin Yarns: "Are you sure [Allan took a knock in training], or is that a euphemism for 'in transfer talks'?"

Billy Whizz: "Zlamal starts for Hearts, oops St Mirren"

@Steve_Hibees: "We really need to sign a midfielder."

Unseen work: "Looks like a flat 442 today. Hopefully Murphy adds real drive, quality and composure from the left flank, something we’ve been missing for quite some time imo

"The bench also highlights the fact to me that we need more players of real quality in.”

Starting XI: Marciano; McGinn, Porteous, Hanlon, Doig; Boyle, Gogic, Newell, Murphy; Doidge, Nisbet.
