Horn tells Rose to go and win Super League in style

Super League leaders Bonnyrigg Rose know that three victories from their final five games will secure them the title, but manager Robbie Horn has urged his side to go and lift the championship in style by taking the maximum 15 points available.

The New Dundas Park men can take a step closer to lifting their first title since season 2011-12 tonight when they make the short journey to Newtongrange to take on local rivals Star (kick-off 7pm).

Rose are eager to avenge the 2-0 defeat they suffered at New Victoria Park two weeks ago in the East of Scotland Cup.

'We want to go and win every game '“ that's what I said to the players,' said Horn. 'It's not a case of just going and winning three games, if we are going to win it we want to do it in style and go and win our remaining five games.'

'None of the games are going to be easy. Nobody is just going to roll over and let us win it, we've got to go and earn it. I'm sure Newtongrange will be fired up for it and they will make it difficult for us.

'The players have got their bit between their teeth now after last Wednesday [2-2 draw at Linlithgow Rose]. That gave everybody a right boost and after what happened a couple of weeks ago against Newtongrange '“ the boys will be fired up for it.'

Horn rested several of his regulars at the weekend in their 2-1 Fife & Lothians Cup victory over Dundonald Bluebell. Lethal strike duo Kieran McGachie and Wayne McIntosh are expected to return tonight, although Jonathan Brown and captain Ross Archibald miss out.

Kelty Hearts look to be the only side capable of overhauling Rose at the top of the table as they sit nine points behind with a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Bo'ness United host fierce rivals Linlithgow Rose at Newtown Park for a place in the quarter-finals of the East of Scotland Cup, while Easthouses Lily travel to Dundonald in the same competition. Arniston Rangers host Haddington Athletic in the Premier League.
