Hunter does the business for Bo’ness

The only goal came in 16 minutes when Ryan Scanlan curled in a free kick and, although Stuart Hunter saw his header blocked, the ball came back to him and he fired past Musselburgh keeper Ali Adams.

A Joe Savage header might have increased Bo’ness’s lead but the ball went just the wrong side of the post. At the other end a Jamie Lauder free kick just went over the Bo’ness bar and a Conrad Thomson effort later went the same way.

In the second half both teams created chances and only a top-drawer save by Ali Adams stopped a Ryan Scanlan shot finding the top corner of the Musselburgh net while Stuart Hunter cleared from his goal line to stop Matti King equalising for the visitors. Even in the final minutes opportunities at either end could have changed the result.
