Leith let the goals flow

Leith Athletic 5Craigroyston 1

Leith eased into the King Cup quarter-finals with a convincing victory over their local rivals.

They took an early lead by taking advantage of slack play and William Bremner shot low past Stuart Addison.

Leith had strong claims for a penalty turned down and Craigroyston equalised in their next attack when Greg Irvine’s low cross was turned into his own net by Neil Lowson. Equality was short lived however as Lowson made amends by firing high past Addison.

Craigroyston gifted Leith a third goal after the break when Addison failed to hold a low Bremner cross, and Lewis Tracey followed up to score.

Bremner and Tracey then forced Addison into saves as the hosts looked to seal their win, and it eventually came when Stevens sent Bremner clear to score, and he completed his hat-trick when substitute Mariano Cornago and Tracey combined to set him up.
