Linlithgow Rose’s faint Super League title hopes were ended last night with a 2-2 draw away to Fauldouse United.

Rose needed to win all of their remaining seven league games to have any chance of catching leaders Kelty Hearts, who can secure the title tomorrow night without playing if second place Bo’ness United fail to win away to Hill of Beath.

Danny Smith’s side, who were on the back of a comfortable 3-1 victory over Penicuik Athletic on Saturday, fell behind to a Jamie McQuilan strike after 17 minutes.

Midfielder Adam Nelson levelled for the visitors after the interval, before Fauldhouse regained the lead through Jamie Robertson with ten minutes remaining. Roddy MacLennan equalised with five minutes left, but Rose couldn’t find a winner.

Bo’ness United are through to the semi-finals of the Fife and Lothians Cup after a 5-0 win over South Division outfit Blackburn United. The lower-league visitors made it difficult for the BUs in the first half and they went in level at half-time, but a Darren Gribben hat-trick and a Nicky Walker brace after the interval secured last year’s runners-up their place in the last four.
