Livingston boss John McGlynn has been dealt a blow with the news that defender Declan Gallagher has been ruled out for up to three months with grade two damage to his medial ligament.
The former Dundee player sustained the knee injury in an unfortunate accident at home.
Said McGlynn: “Declan fell down the stairs on his day off and that’s when he did the damage.
“It’s really unfortunate, but it looks as if though he could be out for three months.”
The 23-year-old had fitted well into the Livi rearguard since his summer move from Tayside, having featured in the club’s first four league matches of the season as well as the 4-1 victory over Hearts in last month’s Petrofac Training Cup second-round clash.
