Lothian see off plucky Leith

Leith Athletic 2Lothian Thistle HV 3 Leith took the lead in the opening minutes after a great run down the wing by Stephen Barrie who crossed to find Greig Tulloch at the back post and he fired the ball into the net.

Omar Ali then levelled for Lothian when he was left unmarked in the box and as the ball was whipped in he was on hand to slot the ball home.

Just one minute later Joe Murray put Lothian ahead when he got on the end of cross from Ali and had the simple task of slotting the ball into the empty net. Ali then went on another terrific run down the wing and crossed to find Craig Stewart unmarked in the Leith box and he fired the ball into the net leaving Banks with no chance.

Leith did pull one back when Jack Combe beat the offside trap. The young striker broke away and slotted the ball past the advancing keeper and into the net. But Leith’s chances of a full come back were dashed when Lewis Cairns was sent off late in the game.
