Business as usual for free-flowing Linlithgow Rose

CHAMPIONS Linlithgow Rose made it two wins out of two in the Super League with a solid 3–1 victory at Hill Of Beath last night.

Roddy MacLennan chipped in a delightful goal before Colin Strickland added a second. James Adams pulled a goal back for Jock Finlayson’s side before Tommy Coyne killed the game off with the Rose’s third.

Bo’ness won their local derby against Armadale 2-1. Zander Miller opened the scoring in the first half before Robbie Feeney equalised for Armadale from the penalty spot. An own goal by Jamie MacKay gave the Newtown Park side all three points.

Broxburn and Bonnyrigg shared the spoils at Albyn Park. The home side took the lead with a headed goal by Alan Mooney, but Bonnyrigg equalised through Kris Renton. Rose had Paul Currie sent off.

Newtongrange continued their good start to the season with a 2-0 win at home to Musselburgh. Sean Jamieson gave them the lead, an own goal by Alan Hamilton finishing the scoring.

In the Premier League, Dalkeith won 4-0 at home to near neighbours Arniston. Following on from their draw at Kinnoull on Saturday it gives Willie Pearson’s side a good start to their campaign.

Penicuik bounced back in style after losing at home to Kirriemuir last weekend when they won 4-0 at Kirkcaldy with goals by Ryan McCallum (2), Dean Knight and Dougie Cunnison.

Livingston got a shock as Pumpherston ran out 3-2 winners in a local derby.

At Creamery Park, Bathgate and Fauldhouse drew 3-3 draw, leaving neither side happy with their start to the season.

The South Division has started well for Johnny Harvey’s Edinburgh United side, who were at Tranent – the team he managed last season – last night and took all the points with a 3-0 win.

Elsewhere, Blackburn beat Harthill 4-1 while Stoneyburn won 1-0 at West Calder.

Whitburn and Falkirk JFC served up a 1-1 draw, with Dunbar winning a derby against Haddington 3-0.
