EDINBURGH CITY travel west tomorrow to face East Kilbride in the first of Lowland League/League Cup double header against Billy Ogilvie’s team.

The leaders will no doubt be aiming to respond positively to Tuesday night’s shock Image Printers Cup semi-final defeat to Leith Athletic on penalties.

With some longer-term absentees missing through injury, boss Gary Jardine won’t be rushing their return as they edge ever closer to the Lowland League title.

“We’ve nothing new in terms of injuries, just the older ones with Mark McConnell, Chris McKee and Mark Torrance out. We’re down to maybe fifteen fit bodies just now so we’ll make do with what we’ve got. It’s the right side of the season coming up so we won’t take any risks.”

Spartans take on Dalbeattie Star at Ainslie Park following Tuesday night’s win at Preston Athletic.

Blair Carswell is set to deputise again in goal should first-choice Kevin Swain still not have recovered from an eye injury sustained a fortnight ago. Elsewhere, Edinburgh University welcome Selkirk to East Peffermill.
