Have your say

All Edinburgh and Lothian clubs are on the road this weekend as the Lowland League hosts the first GroundHop UK event ever held in Scotland.

GroundHop UK arrange visits to non-league grounds across the country and this weekend sees busloads of fans head north to take in the weekend’s fixtures which have staggered kick-offs, beginning tonight with Whitehill Welfare’s trip to East Kilbride.

League Chairman Andrew Waddell is looking forward to what he is sure will be an enjoyable weekend for supporters experiencing their first Lowland League games. “We are delighted to welcome everyone who is taking part in the GroundHop,” he said.

“There have been months of planning gone into this weekend and we are grateful to Chris Berazi of GroundHop UK and his team for organising this. I must also thank our fixture secretary, Kenny McLean for liaising with GroundHop UK on our behalf. I am sure everyone who turns up to watch any of the games will enjoy them and be welcomed by the host clubs.”

Vale of Leithen welcome Preston Athletic at noon with Selkirk v Spartans at 3.30 pm. Edinburgh University are in Castle Douglas on Sunday to take on Threave Rovers.
