Heriot-Watt can clinch title tonight

Have your say

Heriot-Watt University can clinch the East Seniors Central Taxis First Division title tonight and ensure an immediate return to the top flight when they host Peebles Rovers at Riccarton, kick-off 7.30pm.

The students, who have lost only three games all season and are unbeaten in nine, collecting 25 points from a possible 27, are optimistic although not over-confident according to head coach Michael Renwick who said: “I have told the boys that no team wants you to win the league against them. Peebles will make it difficult for us and the most important thing for us is just to play the game.”

With the exception of Banji Koya, Renwick has a full squad available.

Elsewhere tonight, in a mid-table Premier Division match, Lothian Thistle face Whitehill Welfare at Saughton Enclosure, kick-off 7.30pm.

Last night, the Premier Division game between Vale of Leithen and Stirling University was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Innerleithen.
