After near-constant pressure in this Image Printers Cup second-round tie, City finally opened the scoring in 17 minutes. Dougie Gair sent a free-kick into the six-yard box and John Crawford deflected the ball past his own keeper.
City had to wait until the 52nd minute to get their second, a penalty awarded after Ross Allum was tripped while rounding Michael Allan. Mark Walters got a hand to Gair’s spot-kick but could not keep the ball out.
The third came after 68 minutes. Ortega Deniran sprinted down the left wing before crossing to Allum at the back post, and he squared the ball for Mark Osborne to blast home.
Despite City’s relentless attacks they were frustrated by Coldstream – Walters produced three great saves from Allum alone – and the Lowland League side had to wait until the third minute of stoppages for a fourth goal. Allum turned his man and found John Dunn, whose shot went under the advancing Walters.
