TRANENT JUNIORS boss Gary Small was left pinching himself after his side were drawn at home to Auchinleck Talbot in the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup.
Small revealed his delight at facing the holders, with the Foresters Park tie set to be moved from the provisional date of October 24 due to the Ayrshire side’s involvement in the William Hill Scottish Cup.
“It’s a brilliant draw for us, I’m really happy with it,” said Small. “You don’t get any bigger than Auchinleck Talbot and being at home is brilliant – there will be some crowd down for it. I obviously wanted a home draw, but you never expect to get the holders and the best junior team in Scotland down to Tranent.
“The timing of it couldn’t be better because there is a lot of positive things happening at the club.”
Linlithgow Rose’s tie at home to Annbank is also set to be rearranged as they face Inverness Clachnacuddin away from home in the second round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
