Musselburgh hold on for win

Broughty Athletic 1

Broxburn Athletic 2

Broxburn picked up another three points on the road as they comfortably won this match. The first goal didn’t come until just before half time when Craig Young fired home from a tight angle. Broxburn squandered chance after chance in the second half and got punished when Brian Clark equalised. Broxburn did get the winner and it came with 12 minutes left. Craig Scott got the ball 35 yards out and unleashed an unstoppable shot.

Musselburgh Athletic 3

Tayport 2

Musselburgh took the lead on 30 minutes when Sean Jamieson beat the offside trap and ran on to slide the ball home. Athletic then scored their second in a crazy last ten minutes that gleaned four goals when Jed Davie volleyed in from the edge of the box. Two minutes from time Jamieson headed home a third for the hosts, but straight from the kick off Matthew Allan pulled a goal back and in injury time Allan Tulleth scored from close range. Too little, too late in the end though for Tayport as Musselburgh held on for the win.

Newtongrange Star 3

St Andrews United 0

Newtongrange created numerous early chances, but a resolute St Andrews defence held out until the 35th minute when a Kevin Motion header was helped into the net by St Andrews striker Sam Buchan. It was a similar second half, although the visitors threatened with three corners in quick succession that came to nothing. A minute after coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute, Jordan Cropley scored with a tap-in. Barrie Sabanda then hit the bar for St Andrews before Lee Currie put the result beyond doubt ten minutes from time when he crashed home a Craig Thomson free-kick.
