St Andrews 2

Linithgow Rose 3

LINLITHGOW took the lead in the 28th minute thanks to Roddy MacLennan’s looping header.

However, St Andrews roared back. The equaliser arrived in the 33rd minute when Paul Watson forced the ball home after a corner and, three minutes later, the Saints were awarded a penalty and Kevin Fotheringham dispatched the spot kick.

St Andrews struck the bar and things took a turn for the worse for the home team when Paul Watson was red carded.

Linlithgow got back on level terms just before the hour mark when Andy Shirra took a short free kick and Adam Nelson’s 25-yard drive found the corner of the net. With their title hopes on the line Rose poured forward, and, with eight minutes remaining, Ruari MacLennan’s volley flew into the top corner of the net.
