Hibs Ladies have been dealt a blow to their title ambitious after midfielder Lucy Graham joined Swedish side Mallbackens IF.
It’s an opportunity for Graham, 18, to fulfil her dream of playing football professionally and she admitted she was taken aback by the speed of developments.
“If I said I was excited it would be an understatement,” said the Scotland star. “Everything has happened so quickly. I was just about to leave for training when I was told a Swedish side had put in an offer.
“I spoke to my family and once everything was taken into consideration, I felt accepting the offer was the right decision.”
Graham leaves behind a Hibs side that are level on points with Glasgow City at the top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League. The Hibees resume their title fight tomorrow afternoon with a clash against Aberdeen at Albyn Park, Broxburn (kick-off 2pm)
Elsewhere, Spartans aim to close the gap on fourth-placed Rangers when the teams meet at Benburb Juniors, Govan (kick-off 2pm), while Hearts travel to the Highlands to face Inverness City at Millburn Academy (kick-off 12:30pm) and Hutchison Vale host Forfar Farmington at Meggatland (kick-off 1pm).
