Preston Athletic have appointed Craig Nisbet as the club’s new manager.

Nisbet, most recently in charge of Edinburgh United Alba, knows the club well, having spent five years with the Panners as a player in the East of Scotland League between 2000 and 2005. Nisbet was also in charge of the LEAFA Select squad.

The Ferrari Packaging Lowland League club have been without a first-team boss for more than a month since previous incumbent Colin Jack resigned on the November 10. Captain Chris Flockhart and Ryan McSherry have been taking the side in the interim.

Weather permitting, Nesbit’s first match in charge sees him make he short trip to East Peffermill to take on Edinburgh University on Saturday. The Panners have the chance to complete a league double over the Students, after two late goals at the Pennypit gave them a 2-1 victory back in August.
