The weather was only marginally better than last weekend when this tie was abandoned with the score at 2-2, but the outcome was certainly different as Sauchie won 4-1 to progress to the Fife & Lothians Cup Final at the expense of Linlithgow.

It took the home team four minutes to take the lead when Calum Hendrie lobbed Rose keeper Mikey McKinven.

Lithgae got back on level terms in the 42nd minute when Colin Strickland scored from close range.

Sauchie, however, dealt Rose a killer blow in the 71st minute when John Ovenstone was caught out by a high ball and although McKinven stopped the first effort, David Morrison swept in the rebound from the edge of the box.

The outcome was put beyond doubt eight minutes later when Connor Kelly to netted a loose ball.

The scoring was complete in the 86th minute when Kelly’s cross was converted by Darren Cummings.

Sauchie face Camelon in the final this Saturday.
