Spartans have made Eddie Malone their second signing of the January transfer window.
The defender, whose career in the Scottish professional leagues included spells with St Mirren, Dundee, Clyde and Raith Rovers, played in the Lowland League champions’ previous two fixtures as a trialist and has signed on at Ainslie Park until the end of the season.
Manager Dougie Samuel said: “Eddie has been training with us for a few months, since his return from America. He had other options on the table including Senior clubs looking to sign him, however, it’s a testament to our club’s ambition and standing in the game that he has chosen to come here.
“With him being a natural left sided player, it helps to bring a greater balance to the squad.”
Malone revealed the decision to join the North Edinburgh club was an easy one for him to make.
“Dougie’s been really good with me since I came on board and I like the set-up here at Spartans. When the club asked me to sign, it was a no-brainer.”
