Spartans may only be able to finish fourth at best in the Lowland League, but striker Errol Douglas believes ending their league campaign with a win at home to Threave Rovers tomorrow is still important.
Dougie Samuel’s team haven’t won in the league since their 2-1 victory at Preston Athletic in February, and Douglas wants three points before they go into a League Cup quarter final the following week, where they face Preston again. “The main objective for this game is three points,” he said. “It’s been a while since we got a win so it’d be good to end the league campaign on a positive note. We can then take that into the League Cup.”
Champions Edinburgh City end a successful league season with a trip to Yarrow Park to face Selkirk. With a fit squad to choose from, manager Gary Jardine hopes to keep everybody fresh and available ahead of next weekend’s Lowland League/Highland League play-off first leg at home to Brora Rangers. Edinburgh Uni travel to East Kilbride, who can clinch second place with a victory, while Preston Athletic face Dalbeattie Star at Islecroft.
