Currie Star Colts 14s brushed aside Currie FC 14s with a convincing 3-0 win at Meggetland.

Star went on the offensive early on while Currie looked to counter the attacking threat. The game plan almost came off for the visitors when Isaac Mackie rose above his man from a corner to head the ball on target. Thanks to some good reactions by the Star rearguard the ball was cleared off the line, much to Mackie’s disbelief.

The hosts had their first real clear-cut chance of the game in the 33rd minute and Fraser Sayers made sure to take it. Receiving the ball just outside the box he produced a great left-footed curling effort, which flew into the top corner.

A minute after the restart, the hosts doubled their lead through Oliver Couts.

Star’s Cameron Littlejohn got in on the act to make it three with a strike from 12 yards.

Easthouses turn on style

Easthouses FC 19s ran out 5-0 winners against Longniddry Villa Blues 19s in a goal-packed Division 2 clash at Easthouses Complex.

It didn’t take long for the hosts to get going and after some patient pressing in the Longniddry half they went 1-0 up.

Following some good interlinking play between the midfielders and the forwards, the ball reached Robbie Carter in the box, who finished.

Ten minutes later, Easthouses doubled their lead thanks to Jack Irvin.

Josh Elliott got in on the act to grab Easthouses’ third just after half time, with Easthouses dominating proceedings.

Number four for Easthouses followed 15 minutes later when Calvin Clark fired a shot on goal from an acute angle which somehow managed to find the far side of the net.

James Burns got Easthouses’ fifth with a superb solo run which ended with a tidy finish.

Salvie stroll to easy win

Salvesen CFC 96 19s progressed to the second round of the Bob Bankier Trophy after putting five past Edinburgh South Reds 19s at Forrester High School.

rant Aitken broke the deadlock for the hosts when he got up well to head in powerfully from a corner.

Three minutes later they extended their lead when Harvey Kirk half-volleyed in from close range and Michael Forrest then grabbed a third.

Before the end, Cameron McFarlane and Shaun Stevens got on the scoresheet to complete the rout for Salvesen.
