Super LEAGUE champions Bonnyrigg Rose have started adding to their squad ahead of next season.

Bathgate goalkeeper Andy Carlin has put pen to paper for manager Max Christie’s side, with full back Stephen Thomson – on loan from Berwick last season – signing a permanent deal.

Linlithgow boss Mark Bradley is another busy manager. Central defender John Ovenstone has signed from East Fife along with Billy Gibson from Alloa.

In the Premier League, Newtongrange Star boss Alan Miller is looking to build a side capable of winning promotion. He is talking to two players from the Super League although negotiations are at a delicate stage.

Goalkeeper Gary O’Connor and talisman Gareth Hutchison have both hung up their boots, while Paul Forbes and David Beattie are on the transfer list. Miller hopes to be able to announce the new signings later this week.

Bathgate, with new boss Derek Strickland in charge, have re-signed most of their squad from last season with Colin Leiper, Lee Johnston, Marco Andrioni, Gary McCulloch and Gary Fallon agreeing deals to join those already contracted in. Goalkeeper Andy Murphy has been signed from Livingston under-19s in place of Carlin with Mark Lunn, Phil McGrath and Ross Hamilton all on the transfer list.
