Tynie glad of Spartans test after humiliating defeat

Have your say

Tynecastle face Spartans EOS at Saughton tonight (7.45 pm) with Tynie boss Steve Vinter looking to put last weekend’s 6-0 loss to Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale behind them.

“We spoke to the players about last Saturday, it wasn’t nice but tonight is the right type of game to bounce back,” said Vinter.

“I hope Spartans are at their full strength because its good to test yourself against players like Chris Anderson and a few others who have Lowland League experience.”

Ross McMullen has recovered from a shoulder injury for Tynecastle and will return in goal for the suspended Sean Diamond, whilst Colin Tomassi will be looking to keep Spartans’ 100 per cent start to the season intact.

“We’ve had five under-20 players start for us in the last two games, Blair Atkinson and Chris Anderson have been scoring but the contribution of some of the other players has been excellent,” said Tomassi who will be without new signing Kai Wilson for tonight’s match.

“We’ve had a good start against Civil last week and Tynecastle are one of the strongest teams in the league, I rate Dayne Robertson very highly having worked with him at Civil. Some of the players were involved in the midweek games for both the East of Scotland and Lowland sides but there’s no worry about fatigue, we want to keep our good run going.”
