Whitehill Welfare secured their second piece of silverware this season after a 2-1 victory over Berwick Rangers in the City Cup at Shielfield last night.
The Rosewell club earned the right to test themselves against their SPFL League 2 opponents after defeating Spartans on penalties in the final of the Image Printers East of Scotland Qualifying Cup last month.
The hosts grabbed the initiative when Kenny O’Brien found the net with a shot from 20 yards. But the Lowland League outfit rallied and were level after 62 minutes when Andrew Kidd beat the offside trap to score. Ten minutes later, Wayne Sproule notched an impressive winner.
