Bo’ness United kept up the pressure on Kelty Hearts at the top of the Super League with a vital three points at Broxburn.
Two goals in three minutes early in the second half sealed victory as the champions kept their hopes of retaining the title on track. And, with Kelty dropping points at Armadale, it was a good weekend for Bo’ness.
After a first period of few chances, Bo’ness started the second half in explosive fashion when a ball into the Broxburn box from the right found Chris Donnelly 12 yards out and he had time to pick his spot and fire high into the net.
The visitors soon doubled their lead when Nicky Walker found Andrew Scott at the back post for an easy tap-in.
Bo’ness were well on top at this stage and Donnelly stung goalkeeper Gary Maley’s hands from 20 yards out. Mark Cowan had an opportunity soon after but he shot wide.
Just before the hour, the home side threw on all three subs in an attempt to get back into the game but it was Bo’ness that had chances to increase their hold on the contest.
