A WAYNE McINTOSH hat trick helped Whitehill end Vale’s eleven-game winning run at Fergusson Park. The home side took the lead in the 24th minute as Dayne Robertson fired a cross into the goalmouth and McIntosh bulleted a header into the net.

Just 38 seconds into the second half McIntosh struck again, knocking home a Wayne Sproule cross. Vale looked to be staging a comeback when Andy Martin pulled a goal back in the 50th minute but within four minutes they conceded a pen- alty which McIntosh dispatched. Whitehill stretched further ahead as Andrew Sinclair capitalised on a defensive mistake to shoot home on 67 minutes.

There was further misery for the visitors as Scott Devlin saw a penalty saved by Whitehill keeper Darren Walker and with seven minutes remaining they were reduced to ten men as Ryan McKenzie picked up his second yellow card for a late challenge on Sinclair.
