A charity seven-a-side football tournament is being held at Olive Bank, home of Musselburgh Windsor, on Sunday in memory of Steven Slater.
One-time Hearts signing Steven died tragically earlier this year, aged 25. Former teammates, including some of Steven’s former Musselburgh Grammar School colleagues who played a Scottish Cup semi-final a decade ago at Olive Bank, will wear the same strips and bring along Steven’s jersey in memory of their pal.
Two former Hearts youth teammates are flying from London to take part and Steven’s father is putting up the awards for the winning teams with a player of the tournament award an added feature.
The day’s events will conclude with refreshments at Ravelston House.
