Millar on the mark as Broxburn go through

Hurlford United 1Broxburn Athletic 2A GARY MILLAR double sealed an Emirates Scottish Junior Cup second-round place for the visitors.

Broxburn showed their intent early on with chances for Jeffrey and John Miller, who was right through on goal but shot straight at keeper. The opening goal came after 19 minutes when good play from Gibson and Young got the ball into the box for Millar to send his shot into the bottom corner.

Hurlford came out the second-half determined to get back on terms and did so on 50 minutes when Jamie Wilson found space 20 yards out to fire home the equaliser. Hope was short lived, though, as only two minutes later Millar latched on to a Young pass 25 five yards out to fire a spectacular shot into the top corner. Millar should have completed his hat-trick two minutes later when clean through but he shot straight at the keeper. Jeffrey then hit the post.
