The Easter Road youngsters had to come from behind to take the three points, goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski conceding an early penalty as he brought down Well’s Alfredo Ayeman, Ross MacLean stepping up to score from the spot.

But Shaw had Hibs level two minutes before the interval as he tapped home the equaliser and the 19-year-old was on target again six minutes from the end to topple Aberdeen from top spot, the Dons having lost 1-0 to Hamilton while third-placed Ross County were held to a draw by Kilmarnock.

Hibs: Dabrowski, Donaldson, Porteous, Waugh, Crane, Campbell, I Murray (Watson), Stirling, F Murray, Shaw, Gullan. Subs: P Martin, O’Connor, Woods, Paton.
