Peebles earn first victory

Bottom club Peebles beat Berwick Rangers Reserves 2-0 on a freezing afternoon at Shielfield Park.

They took the lead in the first half when Peter Conaghan shot low into home keeper Youssef Bejaoui’s left-hand corner.

On the hour mark, Bejaoui brought down Peebles’ Craig Edgar resulting in a red card for the keeper and a penalty for Peebles. Berwick removed Jordyn Gill and brought on Grant Sandison in goal whose first touch was picking Edgar’s  penalty kick out the net. Berwick threatened after that but Rovers’ resilience saw the visitors get their first win on the board this term.
