Ross Allum went close on the half hour mark but his headed effort crashed off the bar. Just after the interval Kilby were awarded a penalty when Shaun Harrison was adjudged to have barged Gavin Lachlan, but Andrew Stobie dived to save Martin McBride’s spot kick. City immediately counter-attacked and Dougie Gair’s shot was blocked by the legs of Jacob Kean. In the penalty shoot-out, Allum was unlucky to hit the bar from the spot before Kean saved Ian McFarland’s penalty to put the visitors through to the next round.
