Revitalised Livingston looking to spring cup shock against Linlithgow

In the Fife and Lothians Cup quarter-finals tomorrow, Linlithgow Rose host South Division outfit Livingston United.

On paper, it looks a formality for Rose, but Livingston, managed by Andy Johnstone, have been revitalised in recent seasons, and knocked Premier League side Arniston Rangers out in the last round. The cup is the only competition Linlithgow are still involved in, with Mark Bradley’s team – already winners of the League Cup – currently sitting top of the Super League having played all their games, but aware that several rivals have plenty games in hand.

The other quarter-final tie involving Lothians teams sees Thornton Hibs host in-form Broxburn.

For Broxburn to grab a place in the semi-final would be the icing on the cake for what is turning out to be a super season. In pole position for promotion to the Super League, a semi-final would be a huge boost for the title run-in.
