Rory continues scoring spree with hat-trick in Livi success

IN-FORM Livingston striker Rory Boulding bagged himself a hat-trick as John Hughes’s side stormed to their third win in the last four games against Raith Rovers last night.

The Englishman’s three goals at Stark’s Park took his tally to eight in as many matches, as the Lions swept aside John McGlynn’s side with a convincing performance.

Raith, who are still only three points clear of bottom-placed Queen of the South in eight position, put early pressure on the visitors but could not make their superiority tell.

They were punished when Boulding grabbed his first on 18 minutes following Livi’s first attack. From a corner, the Lions were given the spot kick after referee Iain Brines saw a foul in the box. Boulding stepped up and sent Raith keeper David McGurn the wrong way.

Damian Casalinuovo fired a low effort off the post and former Livi man Allan Walker saw his shot skip wide as the home side responded.

A great passing move saw Boulding set up with a chance on the edge of the box on 37 minutes, but he hit straight at McGurn. The striker wasn’t to be denied, however, as Bobby Barr danced along the bye-line on the stroke of half-time and squared for Boulding to finish.

Livi looked comfortable in retaining possession in the second period, and when Barr slipped in Boulding on 55 minutes, the striker made no mistake in finishing into the bottom corner.

It could have been more for the visitors as Barr skipped past three defenders only to see his effort brilliantly turned over by McGurn.
