The boy, named Ewen, sent a letter to Inverness CT chief Kenny Cameron offering his services to the club in the days after John Hughes departed the Caley Jags after the club saw loan player Miles Storey agree a pre-contract deal with Aberdeen.

In the letter, Ewen writes: “I would just like to take the opportunity to put myself forward for the role of manager.

“I can listen to the board and work alongside them to create a stronger team, I can also help the players to develop new skills as I have attended several Hot Shots courses and now play on my school’s football team.”

Ewen, who congratulated Mr Cameron on tying up defender David Raven on a new deal added: “I can speak to my headmaster and see if he would be up for letting me leave school early for important matches and traning.

“I’m sure it won’t be a problem, as long as the players will be able to chip in and help me with my homework.

“In order to complete my Dream Team, I’d like Richie Foran as my assistant manager and Greg Tansey as team captain.”

The club posted the letter on its website, adding: “We think Ewen could be a top contender for the vacant ICTFC managerial position...what do you think?”

In 2014, nine-year-old Aberdeen fan Boyd Gibson sent Aberdeen a list of transfer suggestions, including the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kris Boyd.
