Spartans, who are Kilby’s final opponents before next weekend’s historic William Hill Scottish Cup fifth round meeting with Celtic, are light on bodies due to injury and suspension – something Samuel hopes to ease with another new addition after George Hunter returned to the club on a development loan from St Johnstone last week.

“I’m actively working on bringing another player in because we are stretched just now,” he admitted.

“George will bring quality at the top end of the park as he’s got a proven track record as a goalscorer.

“We’re hoping that he’ll bring his form at St Johnstone into the Spartans team.

“We’re delighted to have him back, he’s a nice guy, a good person and good fit for our club. He knows the club wee and we know him so I think he’ll do really well for us.”
