Wales on song against Swiss

Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale saw Wales continue their recent resurgence as a 2-0 victory over ten-man Switzerland at the Liberty Stadium lifted them off the bottom of Euro 2012 qualifying Group G.

The home side had failed to make the most of their chances during the opening half but the contest swung decisively in their favour during a lively opening to the second 45 minutes.

Switzerland were reduced to ten men after 54 minutes when former Reto Ziegler was shown a straight red for having his studs raised in a tackle on Chris Gunter, and a foul on the same player by Timm Klose six minutes later allowed Ramsey to slot his fifth international goal from the penalty spot.

Bale then made the win safe as he raced on to a Steve Morison pass to beat Diego Benaglio.
