Whitehill Welfare face a reunion with former manager Mickey Lawson tomorrow as they travel to Vale of Leithen as his first opponents following his appointment as manager of the Innerleithen club.

Lawson is glad to be back in management after his departure from Ferguson Park at the end of last season.

“It’s good to be back,” he said. “After managing Whitehill and Spartans it was going to take a good pitch from someone to get me interested to continue in the game.

“Vale of Leithen are a famous old club about to enter their 125th year. Enough said. When I first took the Whitehill job in 1992 The Vale and Gala were our main rivals and that fact has never left the back of my head.”

Edinburgh City are seeking three wins from three Ferrari Packaging Lowland League games as they become only the second side to face newcomers Cumbernauld Colts tomorrow. Gary Jardine is able to welcome back John Dunn, while Ian
McFarland could be in contention as he continues to get used to the protective face mask fitted after suffering a broken nose.

Preston Athletic, meanwhile, are away at Threave Rovers while Edinburgh University have a fee week.
