Fraser on the bench after starring role

A WEEK after being named man-of-the-match, Boroughmuir’s Nick Fraser will find himself demoted to bench duty for this weekend’s Premiership clash at Ayr.

The prop forward drops down so that another up-and-coming player, Robin Hislop, can be included on release from Edinburgh.

Under-20 cap Hislop was involved in Edinburgh’s opening five Pro 12 league games before missing last week’s trip to Scarlets through injury.

Boroughmuir coach Fergus Pringle says: “Robin Hislop is back from injury and starts while Nick Fraser drops to the bench. Greg Scott also starts, with Matt Harvey on the bench (at second row).

“In the backs, Harry Leonard starts at 10 (stand off), with Ally Warnock moving to 15 (full back) in place of Sep Visser, who moves out to the wing.”

Making a welcome return at centre after being out injured since the opening day is captain Malcolm Clapperton.

Pringle adds: “We have been so close over the last two weeks (against Melrose and Currie) and Millbrae will be another big game. We just have to eliminate errors and play at the intensity we have over the last two games to achieve the result.”
