The event was postponed towards the end of last season and rearranged for the first weekend of this campaign.

In their semi-final the Capital men beat Dumfries – and the rain showers – to progress.

In the other last-four tie, Clydesdale defeated the much fancied Forfarshire to book their place too.

The Watsonians bowlers did a great job to restrict Clydesdale to 92 all out in the final, spinners Brendan O’Connell and Mike Carson taking 3-11 and 3-13 respectively.

Dewald Nel, Oli Brown and Tom Cullen also took a wicket apiece while Andrew Chalmers played his part in a run out.

In their reply, Watsonians made short work of things, Scotland man George Munsey, pictured, blasting an unbeaten half century as they won by 10 wickets.
