Golding aims to follow in Murray’s wake
The 17-year-old Londoner showed the potential he has in an impressive 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over junior world No. 1 Jiri Vesely yesterday, becoming the first Briton to win a boys’ grand slam title since Murray at Flushing Meadows in 2004.
Golding said of the Scot: “So far he’s had an amazing career. He’s definitely good enough to win a grand slam, and I’m sure at some point he will. If I could have his career, I’d definitely take it a hundred times over.”
