Golf: Lothians title race set for off

ENTRIES for this year’s Lothians Championship, which sees the nitty-gritty stage taking part at Dalmahoy, close next Monday.

The battle for the title, won last year by Alan Anderson of Bruntsfield Links, starts with the qualifying at Pumpherston and Harburn on May 5.

The match-play starts on the Monday at Dalmahoy and runs through to Saturday, May 12.

The event was last held at the Kirknewton venue in 2006, when Zander Culverwell lifted the title. The handicap limit is five.
